I'd like to start this entry by stating again for the record: That I'm no writer.
These entries are likely to be garbled, too drawn out and will never see a thesaurus.
That being said, let us begin, shall we?

From the age of ten ghosts have been a part of my life. Possibly maybe younger seeing how my memory is foggy and I have issues recalling direct ages :)

This particular story starts out in what I'll call "The Old House". The one my mother, to this day, complains to me that it would have been a lovely house if my "aunt had never played with a ouija board in it".
She's never thought that maybe she played with the ouija board because it was a hotspot for spirits, though. And the older I get the more that makes sense.

I had a hamster while I was growing up that I was very fond of. He was overly clever. Always getting out.
I suppose that would frustrate any other child- however I found it as a game of hide and seek. I'll admit that it was a scary game of hide and seek, though.

One particular night it was very close to bedtime and I couldn't find my precious pet. I could hear him scratching around in my dresser but I could not find him.
I took all of my clothing out and set it on the floor from every single drawer but the scratching in the empty drawers continued.

I requested help from my mother to remove the drawers because surely that meant that he was under the drawers.
My mother removed every single drawer and the scratching in the dresser continued. We sat on the floor and stared at the dresser in confusion as the sound continued-- always coming from the center of the dresser.
I found my hamster shortly after (in my bed of all places) and let my mother know. However the scratching in the dresser continued.

My mother was so shaken by it that she lied to me the way an adult would lie about santa clause, in the way a child that age could tell it was a lie but shouldn't say anything. She said "It's the racoons in the attic". I was a difficult child though, so of course I questioned it. "How would racoons be in the attic when there's no way to get in?" And she tucked me in, never breaking eye contact with my dresser, and told me "It's time to go to sleep now. Just let the raccoons play, they'll be gone in the morning."

The scratching in the dresser was never heard again.
